Scholarships
Because of the generous support of many donors and a small endowment, we frequently have scholarships available based on need. For a scholarship application, please click here or call the OE office.

Program Participation Requirements
We want you to participate to the best of your ability. You will not be expected to participate in activities that you do not feel comfortable trying. All participants must be able to perform tasks of daily living and make their needs known throughout the program independently or with the assistance of a Personal Care Assistant. Your PCA may accompany you free of charge to provide support.

Participant Behavior Expectations
OE makes every attempt to accommodate each individual. However, OE volunteers and staff are not able to address significant behavioral or medical issues. Please contact the OE office regarding these issues ahead of time so that we can work together to effect a positive, safe experience for all.

Program Details
You will receive detailed information about your program approximately two weeks prior to the trip date. We provide or loan out all necessary gear and program-specific clothing at no cost.

Transportation
Most of our activities are accessible by the bus and or train (MBTA). Each trip description will include details related to mass transportation and/or parking.

Accommodations
We have extensive experience working with people of all abilities and design each program to be inclusive. If you need accommodations, please indicate this on your program registration form as well as your medical information form. All personal information will be kept confidential. We will only share information related to accommodations with select volunteers who will be working with the program.

Cancellations/Refunds
If you cancel more than seven days prior to your program, OE will provide a full refund minus a $10 administrative fee. If OE cancels a program, we will refund all fees paid for the program, including the deposit.

Breaking Down Barriers to Adventure
"The best part was seeing the clients with physical disabilities or fear of heights make the effort to climb the walls. People who never thought they could do this had the opportunity to be proud of themselves."
-Joe Breen, HICS recreation program coordinator (Climb and Dine 3.14.08)
Your donations added 400 adventures in the past 10 years. Help to change a life today.
